Brainy Money Tips at CNBC - TV18

Congratulations to colleague, Sita Menon, for an exciting new enterprise over at CNBC – TV18 in India.

The site’s vision rests on a quote from Robert Noyce, a founder at Intel …

Start with a growing market. Swim in a stream that becomes a river and CNBC.jpgultimately an ocean. Be a leader in that market, not a follower, and constantly build the best products possible.”

What refreshing new windows into financial well-being and career growth! Hopefully we’ll also see neuroscience discoveries of growing connections between wealth and the brain at work, and I suspect we will.

Most would agree that not everyone has the vision, for wealth that’s natural and wealth that’s fun. Yet I’ve been especially struck by wit and wisdom that comes from other cultures - who look at finances from frameworks we can miss. How so?

You'll find doable tips from experts at CNBC-TV18, to:

Network more effectively for professional success.

Jettison your firm beyond falling markets.

Take twenty practical steps toward smarter financial management.

Avoid being exploited to serve someone else’s ends.

Not bad for starters. And those are just a few of the fine windows into this brainy site. It’s worth following the writers here …  as a way to grow new dividends while sustaining the best assets you already own.

It’s also a way to jumpstart intercultural exchanges with interesting financial experts. Now that’s worth the buzz this exciting new site has generated. Do you agree?

Ellen, it's important to get the perspectives of folks from other cultures on important financial matters. They view this much differently than we might and I believe we have much to learn. Thanks for a thoughtful post on this new site.

Thanks Robyn, you speak for many of us when you suggest we have lots to learn from one another! This site is also proof of that as is your site at http://brainbasedbiz.blogspot.com/.

Ellen, just read a fantastic book on investing by Ken Fischer called "The Only Three Questions that Count". It's a real mind boggler, because he forces you to challenge all your assumptions and break out of your caveman mindset. I highly recommend it to people who are interested in the brain and investing.

Brad, you have me curious now as to what the questions are and how they work. Thanks for the suggestion - I love an author who can challenges the brain's basal ganglia ( that traditional aparatus that holds many of us back). Must check that book out this week!

Ellen, I'd love to know what you think of the book, and if it challenges you. It sure challenged me!
