Charles and Camilla set aside the traditions of his royal crown in favor of a business venture today. It’s much like a business you or I might start … or is it?
The royal couple kicked off their high-end organic business today in Tetbury,
Gloucestershire. The purpose behind the venture was cited as an opportunity to sell organic produce from specially grown farms the Prince operates. Perhaps owns is a more accurate description.
The shop … fittingly named Highgrove ... claims to have Duchy Originals … in veggies and flowers.
As for the profits from the royal business?
Apparently all profits from the shop will go to Prince Charles and Camilla’s charities.
According to BBC, The prince is well known for his interest in organic food and food production, and has recently published a book of recipes.
These were things I wondered about when I read the press release that announced the royal business. Do you see this as an opportunity for the royal couple to add their own brand to more traditional royal responsibilities? Will this enterprise generate significant income for charity? And how will Highgrove's roll out ... differ from your profitability prospects?

$8 US dollars for apple juice? $12 US dollars for a bar of soap? The carrots and leeks sound okay, and I know mugs with hens on them, in England, always fetch a fair price, but for me it is NOT the royal mud. I want organics patented. But I want it to beat out chemical effeciencies. What are you going to do next, with these outlandish prices, organics biofuels in the royal mud with organic patents to drive up costs? This better be to divorce Camilla; divorcee charity indeed. Annie
