To celebrate Women’s History Month ...
Because my own work often includes newly discovered differences in women's brains ... I'm especially thrilled to see women honored here ... in ways that benefit us all.
Stories in the local Rochester paper featured female leaders who:
1. Value Diversity - Gladys Santiago … president of Rochester City Council … calls for new appreciation and communication across cultural differences.
2. Seize Opportunity - Maggie Brooks …
ve … challenges readers to look for and seize the opportunity that lies behind every challenge.
3. Leverage Strengths - Louise Slaughter … the first woman to chair the Rules Committee in the House of representatives … urged readers to learn from difficulties and remain determined to leverage strengths.
4. Improve Models - Greta Kolcon … president of the Greater Rochester Association for Women Attorneys … calls for new models that improve the way justice is delivered and to develop innovative concepts for the practice of law.
5. Bounce Back - Beverly Jackson … CEO of RMBDC Inc. Business management and Technical Assistance Consultants – applied Maya Angelou’s inspiration ….”Still I rise …” to come back after stunning disappointments.
Without question … each of these fine female leaders showcases brainpower to launch Women’s History Month ... with the value it deserves. Do you agree?
From each … we also learn living lessons that ratchet up brain based leadership in our own organizations.
Could their pivotal suggestions here ... not also help us to raise our collective business intelligence? What do you think?
