
Recently I had my white out confiscated at an airport check-in, paid a double co-pay for my regular prescription, saw Google plummet my network’s blog score, and watched a major organization order extra invoices in four different methods – after these had already been submitted. Yeesh….
Ironically … somebody also reminded me today … that the US is headed downwards faster daily … while other nations build, dream, progress and leap forward financi
ally.
What’s the connection between national downward spirals and growing bureaucracies in this country?
I am not sure of recent research on this question – but I do know a few studies have been done that show hidden dangers of growing bureaucracies:
1).Bureaucracy can create illusionary fantasies and empty catchwords
2. Bureaucracy increases incompetencies at work and is laughable at times.
3. Bureaucracy equals death of good people and progressive ideas.
4. Bureaucracy often exists to serve and protect itself and its pillars.
5. Bureaucracy attracts perfectionists who rely on “perfect” rules.
The other side of bureaucracy is progress – and it comes when clever people take a risk to create a better way. What one bureaucratic process you would change where you work – and what process would you implement to take its place?
