Fuel For New Year Plans

We often see resistance strike down new plans at work.  But have you noticed how people who muster up enthusiasm tend to succeed at work far beyond brains under pressure?

To the human brain enthusiasm buffers the storms and provides space for a new start.  It’s an umbrella against downpours that kill innovation. To pioneer a nonew%20year%20plans.jpgvel idea is to act  vulnerability to beliefs on both sides. Through enthusiasm … the brain releases serotonin … a chemical that increases solutions, cooperation and adds well being beyond frustration that can deluge pioneers.

Enthusiasm’s magic creates the sunshine that allows human brains to adapt to change. It stems the flow of cortisol that causes people to lash out… strike back… or give up….

Enthusiasm spark mental chemicals and opens access to a wider mix of intelligences … so you find yourself surpassing mistakes and piling on creative solutions that lead your innovations forward.

I think enthusiasm is vital for an organization. And you're right about the benefits. But I find we also need some of those pessimists around, especially when we're deciding on whether to undertake a high risk activity.

There's a huge gap between enthusiasm and impulsiveness as I see it. You?

Happy New Year Ellen:

I believe one can be enthusiastic without being reckless. Norman Vincent Peale wrote a book called "Enthusiasm makes the difference" ..it's packed with practical suggestions. In my experience, enthusiasm has an alluring, almost magnetic quality.
I think the word comes from the Greek term "en theos," which, roughly translates as "with God"
