How do you spark stress free conversations that are both interesting and informative. Research shows that we each get hit with about 22 stressors each day. Were you aware, though, how good tone turn stressors into learning adventures.
People who tend to ask 2-footed questions that draw from humanity as much as from the topic they speak to, help transform stressors into learning. Watc
h them engage and reflect on other viewpoints, and you also learn the value of tone in the face of conflict.
On the opposite side … have you noticed how one opinionated person, without much desire to learn or grow, can suddenly change investigations into wars? No need to panic when that happens, luckily.
Recent research shows how stress makes people fail to reverse, “I can’t” expressions into, “I can” opportunities through increased serotonin and decreased cortisol for new adventures..
Brainpower is generated from even one hook between what you do now and where you are headed in the future. How so?
Offer encouragement rather than speak in meta messages or than to vent and watch others begin to respond with new sincerity. Over time people tend to respond more positively because encouragement raises the levels of serotonin in the brain ... and so cynics no longer drain a room easily, because this jolt of adrenalin fuels people’s brains for more positive solutions.
Your brain is geared to move you out of ruts that hold you back … and into the results some people only dream of. The key is to connect elastic like nerve fiber bundles in your brain … from what you know today to what you hope to learn or do tomorrow.
Stand as peacemaker between people who disagree – so that instead of tone as a blatant silent killer you use tone to turn disagreements into organizational growth. It starts quite simply – each time we write a memo or email to build goodwill … even with those who disagree.
Beat dead horses or remain in ruts … and you’ll also change your brain through broken connections and decreased opportunities. Why is it so?
Weakly connected regions in the human brain … drift apart and form isolated cortical valleys. It’s connections rather than isolation that increases brainpower for measurable results.
The stretching and compression of brain tissues changes your cortical landscape and increases your brain functioning. Your part is simply to look for a connection that fits your current abilities and move forward to investigate the new journey ahead. Do drop by and share where the link leads you though.
If the tips I’ve offered here don’t turn around a critical or negative workplace then it’s simply time to stick a neuron in your head and laugh it off!
