Worker, 81, Insists Brains Need Not Age

What holds the interest and vitality of an 81 year old professor who continues teaching college classes and insists that brains need not age?  Even long after the body grows old?

Dr Marian Diamond professor of anatomy … and one of the world's foremost neuroanatomists …  changed science by showing how human brains don’t have to grow old. Do you believe that?

At 81, and still a professor of anatomy at UC Berkeley, Dr. Diamond’s determined that the brain can stay young through stimulation. How so?

Diamond’s five phase … no nonsense approaches to brain youthfulness:

1. Eat well – to optimize nerve cells and their branches

2. Exercise – to increase blood and oxygen flow for healthier brainpower.
3. Think new - to challenge your brain and rejuvenate its plasticity
4. Maintain strong immune system – by reducing stress, for instance.
5. Love others tenderly – to process a cared for through caring brain anatomy.

In addition to maintaining youthful mental states, Dr. Diamond also researched parts of Einstein’s donated brain … to help us understand how genius really works.

I had the great joy and privilege of meeting Dr. Diamond over a decade ago. In addition to being an amazing and ground-breaking researcher, she is also an astoundingly good lecturer and of the most gracious people God has ever put on the planet.

Wally, how exciting it would be to meet you and Marion Diamond for lunch. I already have a couple of fun questions about creativity, people, and the brain's real ability, stored in case it happens!
