Excluding creative web specialists, such as Richard MacManus over at Read/WriteWeb … technologists seem to expect too much similarity. And it shows at work. How so?
I’ve been watching technology’s tightening templates ... that curtail creativity with scary speed. Supposedly templates streamline business for higher gains.
In reality … templated-driven-practices … increasingly seem to mean … more money … for less people … from fewer operating approaches… with minimal innovation in the mix. Have you noticed? ![]()
When I look around me, luckily I see some successful people fighting back. Do you?
Let’s say a template’s opposite reclaimed the creative helm. What would happen at work today, for instance, if you …
1. Add to some creative Online project – without regard for rigid templates in the technology ... and without bending to conformity?
2. Learn your best lesson from a child’s curiosity about the world around you, and then teach it to somebody else with the same enthusiasm?
3. Invite an arch enemy to lunch and then leave as friends … or at least being able to articulate that person’s view about an issue that divided you?
4. Toss your best talent into the ring … simply for the sake of business growth in one small area that needed a creative tough – and nothing more.
5. Celebrate any success you spot at work and laugh … at the little things that try and hold your business back.
Would a bit of mind bending …step you outside templates …. to zap new flavor, fun or finances into on-the-job-routines? What do you think?

All around your post are ads for "Reclaim Your Brain." If people get away from templates they would have a chance to be more creative and go far to "Reclaim their Brains."
Thoughts?
