Was it really Alberto Gonzales who failed us today ... or is the system we’ve created seriously flawed? What’s worse – we’ve wired our collective mentality for even more axing. How so?
Today Americans axed U.S. Attorney General Alberto Gonzales and many
That brief statement made from the Justice Department today seemed more than the conclusion of government services of Attorney General of the
The resignation reminds us that problems continue to plague leaders like Gonzales for a reason. We cut down and chop out – rather than create a plan for peaceful resolutions to problems we face. Look at wars we chase. It’s rarely about solutions that benefit the nation – and often about wars that separate people and ideas that differ. This resignation is more about American voters and how we fail to solve problems together.
It’s a bit like our response when employees resign. Leaders who welcome differences and who emphasize good tone – build stronger communities through sustainable solutions to shared problems.
Warrior minds, in contrast, cut off and distance all those who differ. Peaceful solutions in contrast, could cull the best from both sides in support of solutions not seen in Gonzales’ story. Where to from here...?
It’s time for a new conversation about American potential for solving the growing problems we face. Let’s hold more discussions that start with …”What if…” Then, let’s admit more vulnerability, and run from flame war statements that promote violence or the end of careers.
Just imagine a refined tone among our leaders – who develop teams with people like Gonzales ... but more importantly - with mental progress in mind. Think of the wide mix of intelligences that would emerge to solve growing problems we face.
When you consider how axing a guy like Gonzales – simply rewired our brains again for cutting out and chopping down people and ideas – you begin to long for a new system – one that unites and builds up all we’ve lost. Now that turnaround would get my vote faster than this story will. You?

I think with better minds and a better approach to problem solving, we wouldn't even had elected this bozo GW Bush to office (I voted againt him both times), and then we wouldn't have to be axing bad servants like Gonzales in the first place.
But dream on... I have no optimism for that type of smart resolution within government. Republicans and Democrats are both filled with a bunch of non-effective people. Is it ever possible to get smart people in government? Or are they better off in private industry where they can accomplish much more and be better rewarded for it?
