It struck me as I read Liz Strauss' post how currency comes from anything we do well.... At least anything that people want or need.
Do you remember how journalist Shirley Povich won great popularity at the Washington Post? I’ve often been intrigued by Povich’s personal philosophy … ![]()
“No story has been written that couldn’t be written better.”
Would that describe something you do you'll do at work today ... or this week?
Some people tell you they get so lost in the fast flying technologies that they forget to take time out to develop what they already do well. Yet the art of growth starts with what we do.
Opportunities for new development of your best ideas will be there as long as humans are around.
In fact … we see new technologies daily that can add growth to some ideas we communicate. It’s often a matter of connecting what you do well to something innovative that comes along. One CEO described it as simply adding another lane to the superhighway already out there.
However we see it -- life is moving at a far faster pace and yet there is nothing out there that couldn’t be done – even better. Start by working to improve one element that will make what you do even more current and your brain will do the rest!
Why not start with the MITA question …
What did you do well a while back – that could catch a curious eye - from investors of the future?
Work to improve just one element of that thing that you do best – and you’ll more than likely ensure your talents remain current for the future.
Do you agree?

Ellen, you describe me when you say "folks can get lost trying to keep up with the flying technologies." I've had two hard drive failures lately and quite frankly I lost part of my brain because I had outsourced some of my memory. Got any great antidotes?
