Can Nanotech Simulation Turn US Violence into Peace?

Yesterday Brain Based Business questioned ... Why do we daily dive into costly conflicts that promote violence for answers?

In contrast, I showed how progressive countries like Japan pour more and more talent and resources into new brain based applications that benefit people.

It seems I am not alone in war concerns, and Sandia researchers may be closer to technology that could turn violence we perpetrate into peace plans we implintegrating%20tech%20and%20brains.jpgement. How so?

Today, an interesting take today Science daily shows how the new Cognitive Revolution: Integrating Computing, Nanotech, Simulation And You.

It’s a bit like creating a  “virtual you” by “modeling how you think and your expertise on a subject. Or one where your car’s computer appreciates your driving skills and compensates for your limitations.”

Check out the details and you’ll be amazed at Sandia researcher Rob Abbott who used a joystick to model a student in a training exercise driving an amphibious assault vehicle simulator which is used by the military.

A second monitor shows instructor application where a thermal image of a student's face is used for investigating biometrics to monitor the student’s engagement and focus.

Researchers here say “it’s a revolution of the mind — of how people think and how machines can help people work better.”

See from the story how Sandia researchers are closer to understanding human cognition better in ways they claim will find problems before they turn into armed conflict, for instance. Could their work move us toward more doable peace strategies and actions worldwide.

Can it work? What do you think?
