As Seth requested, I’m looking to hire a community minded entrepreneur with a high performance mind. Job description?  To return magic to unsafe streets in my slowly declining city - Rochester, NY. Who should apply?

The person can come from any culture – but must have unique eyes to see the good in other groups. Somebody who can jumpstart potential in people to clean up our downtown areas – and return magic to the streets.

We’d be looking for quaint cafes outside little shops and business that bustles with supports from people of every background you can imagine.

You’d have to know how to build one community from many active parts. We’d soon sense the challenge and accountability of your community on one hand, and the safety and reliability of it on the other.

You’d need to spot corruption within our police, government, media, accounting and school systems. In fact you’d begin to create new ways to regenerate these tired clogged systems with vibrant connections from people who care about the city with passion, purpose and problem solving ability.

You’d have added advantage if you understood visions like Wegmans  where  people build together and then vote their site the best place to visit and work. Like Wegmans does, you’d have to show an ability to access hidden and unused talents here already – in ways that energize us all to  reach this gallant vision. You’d have to be able to balance old ideas from people who retired here – without alienating younger upbeat offerings of Rochestarians just starting out and undecided yet about where to live.

Restore Eastman school of music so that residents hear its music ringing through the city streets as neighborhoods come alive one after the other. Rewire our city so that we can use laptops in any area, and rewire our hearts for the safety we’d feel again on streets downtown. You’d be in one sense shining a light for new hope and business in this city beyond pay cuts, downsizing a stagnation.

We’re really looking for a person who looks beyond that smaller place where you stand at the moment to see a place we’d all commit to more. Look beyond your race to see the value in ours and draw people together in the process. Glance past old problems to spot new possibilities that will make our city great again. See beyond your own capabilities and aspirations to draw from the keenest talents in this city’s multiple intelligence mix. Move beyond ideas and great insights to act in ways that people see their best suggestions alive others’ faces and in the city streets. Walk beyond the troll – without stepping on good ideas from any bloke you pass.

I think the place to drop off your application .. is Elliot Spitzer’s office since Governor Spitzer seems to have already started down this hot trail and if you show your creative new additions, and profit sharing attitude, you’d likely be part of his team and I’d publish and spotlight your example of what we could be in Rochester, because you organized it.
