ABC News recently featured a new and better brain scanner that could change the way we work. How so?
If the new brain scanners are what they claim to be they will possibly deliver higher resolution images of some of the fears and joys we take to work daily. According to Graham Wiggins and Lawrence Wald at ![]()
How does it differ from the brain imaging we have currently?
The best scanners out there tend to hold up to 12 coils – while the new scanner uses up to 96 coils – spread in denser fields across the scalp.
Each coil detects highly accurate signals from the brain tissue beneath it. Image segments are then pieced together through the computer created systems – to show a far higher resolution of the human brain.
Researchers expectation is that with higher resolution of the brain’s images – scientists can observe and assess neurological basis for fears – for joys and for many other emotions. In understanding … for instance … more about how the amygdala impacts emotions – people might learn to regulate more of their own cognitive functions.

Wow. That is fascinating and something to track.
It's also a heck of a fashion statement.
