My A team is invited to create an alliance … two weeks from now… between
In spite of the fact that we are far too busy to think about any details of that A team meeting at the moment… nevertheless … Dr. Robyn McMaster and I took the lion’s share of yesterday and today to prepare details? Why? ![]()
Because the brain needs time to create excellence and it usually does so in increments. One great idea builds off another.
After the meeting I will tell you more about this exciting alliance opportunity.
For today … here are 5 surefire advantages of an early start… in order to prepare your brain and plan incrementally.
1. Throw seed ideas into a fertile soil …. Brainstorming sessions ensure time for growth and maturity – before the plant is put out for others to inspect. We brainstormed a chart to show the offerings and benefits between MITA and this major New York organization.
2. Build curiosity for possibilities by asking trusted A team members for suggestions and at the same time – block your best ideas from cynics until the deal is signed and sealed. In contrast to nay sayers who zap your creations with cortisol and cause them to fall before they stand - suggest solutions for every problem.
3. Hook your ideas to their interests. Identify key benefits for the alliance team for every benefit your firm expects in return. Name them up front and lead the meetings with offerings the other side will win from the partnership.
4. Risk leading with your strengths. This may best be the best moment to try a new set of smart skills – but run instead with a skill you do best. We have an international model for leading, learning, assessing and creating profitable communities. Our strengths? MITA’s proven past … and we have books and international articles written by experts in the several top shelf publications … to prove MITA’s surefire results. Can you guess how we’ll lead the communication when our turn comes?
5. Arrive early and prepare calmly. Serotonin comes without stress when you prepare the setting ahead. That enables you to see and jump on opportunities that a last minute arrival will miss. Give yourself that extra mental advantage…. Cortisol shuts down the same opportunities for those who move at the last moment – either to prepare the notes or start the meeting.
Oh, and one more thing… we'll listen to our favorite music in the next two weeks and get plenty of exercise. That works out our own brains in preparation to match the best brains on the other side of the table. It's how we target early to win!
Any alliance possibilities for your side lately? Tell us how you clinch your best deals....
