Can Neuroscience Add Zip to Your Leadership?

My friend and fellow blogger Stephanie West Allen reminded me today of a fascinating article in Business Week -- The Business Brain In Close-Up that poses the question?

Can neuroscience offer insights into the 'soft' art of leadership?

What do you think?

Apparently participants ponied up $3,500 to find out answers when they attended David Rock’s Italy summit, at CIMBA, an MBA program where the neuroscience of leadership is core to its teaching.

In linking the two fields of "hard" science of the brain and what is called the "soft" art of leadership. Are these really hard and soft?  These rigid – and dry terms holding us back from new zip in both!

Check out details of how it’s done - in the article at The Business Brain In Close-Up.

Let’s be careful not to make this amazing offering into a money grabber for either side – when it could become a segue to zest for both.

Before discoveries about the brain can lead to growth in science or in business or about change anywhere for that matter – let’s look at the rigid separation of “hard” and “soft” when it defines skills. How so?

What if we opened a new discussion about smart skills that can open new neuron and business pathways into new productivity through the brains plasticity to for both science and business?

Now that's a discussion that interests me enough to throw my dollar into the ring. How would you come out in a smart skills survey?
