My good friend, Steve Roesler, over at All Things Workplace, asked what we think about managing change. Great question. Steve’s challenge to the rest of us, was sparked by the fact that leaders say they are weary of change. Have you seen that too?
Steve tells us in his post, titled What’s Happening with organizational Change?![]()
"Workplace consultants BlessingWhite, in a study of nearly 900 executives cited in Management-Issues, found that nearly half believe that leading teams through organizational change is seen as extremely challenging or very challenging.
Perhaps the most striking findings are these:
- Middle managers say they are weary of change
- Organizations are meeting more resistance to change at the middle management level"
Check out why a top leader, Christopher Rice says we are stuck in this place, and see why changes you make may be hitting more walls than targets.
The MITA Brain Based Center is an International Renewal Organization for Change, and so when problems present barriers to improvements – that’s when we show the human brain’s real capability to fight back -- and win!
Leaders like Steve – inspire us to look again at change that draws from multiple intelligences so that better balance is attained by the time the fat lady sings. Thanks Steve, your challenge that “change is not necessarily growth,” helps me prepare for my next conference which reflects Thoreau’s claim that “things do not change – we change.”
I’m bookmarking this keeper in the meantime, and will be looking for ideas from others to ensure that more people are part of the change that leads us all forward. Your turn….
