Yesterday, an interesting call came to the MITA Brain Based Center from an editor at SELF Magazine. What followed were cool questions about how the brain can give more back.
The conversation allowed me to ramble on a bit about renewal ideas I love to play with, and also to zero in on the amazing cache of good news about the brain over the past year.
That call also showed me the mind-bending benefits of reaching out to others for support – and of supporting others who reach out.
When people come alongside as SELF did, and ask good questions, we get to comment on hot topics in new ways. It’s really a win – win when we look to other people for ideas about what they do - a bit like holding ideas up to the rainbow for another look.
Thanks to SELF I was able to take what I know about the human brain - into their arenas - and offer a fun plan that hopefully will zip-start a summer day for their readers. That’s all I’ll say so that I do not break the respect we built – or steal their thunder.
When this brain based article hits the magazine's pages in August though, I’ll be sure to splash its colors onto the screen, so you can have some of the fun I had over the phone yesterday with a SELF Editor.
Did your business ever benefit by a surprise call -- or did you ever phone somebody - just to talk about what they’d love to share?
Sound like a win-win?

Congrats, Ellen, that is very exciting.
I am curious to know, though, if you contributed a brain-based foundation for the "Sexy-you Secrets: 6 Moves for Bedroom Bliss"?
Sorry. Couldn't resist.
