How Dumb are the Rich?

How dumb are the richest people you know? Believe it or not, a new study at Ohio State University just discovered that you can be dumb and still be rich.

This nationwide research showed how people of lower intelligence tended to possess similar wealth to people with higher IQs.

Interestingly, some highly intelligent people spoke of having problems with financial difficulty. “People don't become rich just because they are smart,” concluded Jay Zagorsky, researcher at Ohio State University 's Center for Human Resource Research.

My question is … If IQ is unrelated to personal wealth, and if smart people can fall  into financial difficulty… what advantage comes with developing more brainpower?

Check out the details in this study to see how one financial indicator – INCOME - showed it still pays to be smart.

Apparently, people with higher IQ scores take home larger salaries than those with lower IQs. Good thing we now know that IQs are not fixed. What do you think?

Some basketball and other sports players certainly aren’t as bright as other rich people, but they are a group of people who belong to high income earners. This should be sufficient enough to prove their study.

It's not about how high your IQ is. It's about how much financial knowledge you have and whether you want to learn about it. Of course, if you have high IQ, your learning path to financial matters will be faster and shorter than the average. But then, the principle of wealth building is simple enough for most average to grasp.

I agree with the study. I know some people with normal IQ that have higher income than the ones I know who have IQ that are above normal. I think it's about our unique gifts which may be intellectually or physically.
