The brain works better with a clear target as an advanced organizer and it can be as simple as scribbling out three basic bullets daily. How so?
Here’s how it works for me:
1. Before I return telephone calls, I jot down three bulleted points to cover. The opening point is often a two-footed question, which reminds me to create a two-way exchange from the start. Then I glace at my bullets as we speak. This covers top information needed and allows for a few creative exchanges to capture my focus. Bullets harness your mental energy ... because it frees brainpower - no longer wasted in remembering top priorities.
2. To launch my workday I tend to scribble three bulleted priorities as I sip that first cup of coffee for the day. These might be as simple as …. * run in the park * call so and so and, * create agenda for this week’s boardroom meeting. Three’s a manageable number to prioritize a daily calendar – in a way zeros in on priorities and at the same time creating space for new visions. It's a bit like hitching your wagon to a star to energize your day.
3. As a creative venture I often go after solutions, possibilities or insights by jotting down three creative bullets to try during the day. Yesterday for instance, I bulleted 1). brain based gems to include in an ipod interview in the UK; new idea for a bog about a million dollar donation, and insights for a leadership conference the
