Music Creates Calm and Calamity at Work

It often surprises me … that music can either make or break your day. How so?

Walk into an imaginary workplace and listen while you experience mood shifts…

Listen in the first room to inspirational music  and sense your mood mellow. If you read or write in this room … you’ll be more apt to tap into inner beliefs and desires. That’s because brain waves literally move to music’s cadence and can  create an amazing mental landscape to help you read, relax or reflect on your day. Check out your favorite music to see its benefits.music%20moves%20your%20brain%20waves.gif

Music can  also make you edgy and anxious....

Hear heavy metal, for instance,  or listen to hip-hop music … and you’ve already excited your nervous system. Helpful or not? You decide  after you consider how this music sometimes leads people into acting out dynamic behavior and self-expression.

It’s more a matter of brain wave movement that some realize. What more ... these change as the day moves along and as your focus changes.

What music are whistlin' and how does it affect your work?

Check out what music does to your moods and then match the music with the moment for Don Campbell’s Mozart Effect. Thoughts?

Music makes me calm during stressful times, but it distracts me when I'm doing serious work. Other music gets me on the mood and on the move.

Thanks for stopping by Irene, and sharing the different reactions music has had for you. have you tried different kinds of music, especially instrumental, during "serious work" when you otherwise feel distracted?

I'm really glad that I'm not subjected to discordant music at work. My choice this morning was Ernie Ranglin's Tribute To A Legend CD, instrumental versions of Bob Marley songs. It's really nice when I play it quietly.

Galba, thanks for the new title - I'll have to try that one. I just bought a new CD today - Josh Groban "Awake" and your comment reminded me to play it! Thanks for stopping by Galba.
