I just read an interesting list of Online colleges to upgrade a few skills for those who’d like a career shift or a new position.
Bill Bellew over at The Biz of Knowledge spotlighted The online education database that compared 57 online colleges for -
1. acceptance rate, ![]()
2. financial aid,
3. graduation rate,
4. peer Web citations,
5. retention rate,
6. scholarly citations,
7. student-faculty ratio,
8. years accredited
Of the 57 online colleges and universities The Online Education Database came up with the top 20 online schools.
Would you agree with their winner’s list from all you’ve heard?

An increasing number of opportunities offer Online learning opportunities and those who follow a few tips will get the best bang for their bucks at these schools. What do you think?

The ranking above is very interesting. An organization of which I am a part also ranked the top 20 online colleges and universities. Our list is significantly different...not better or worse...just different. We tried very hard to put together the best list we could, but we don't put too much credence in our list or anyone else's because, as we tell prospective students, the best educational option for one student may be a very poor option for another.
The value of our list and others, as we see it, is to give students a good starting point; no more.
