Ed Brenegar Tagged Five Bloggers - So I Did Too

My blog just got tagged by friend and fellow blogger, Ed Brenegar – so I’m passing it on, to keep talent alive at sites like yours too. It’s quite easy to jump in even if I missed tagging your best blog. Just tell us what makes you tick as I did below. Here goes….

Five things you may not know about me … are that I…

1. Am working in Ireland as I write this post --  with a progressive circle of medical brain2at55percent.jpgprofessionals -- who use my MITA method, and who get exciting new results by energizing people’s brain in unique ways. I think you already know how I love brain based work, but you may not know it’s groups like this Irish circle which zap MITA tactics with brilliant talents.

2. Grew up in Nova Scotia, back in the time when we bought live lobsters on wharfs for a buck and boiled these … without butter … for a meal to die for. You may not know how much I value the peace programs in my native country, Canada. Or you may not be aware of how deeply grateful I am for brain based growth opportunities I value here in the US... where I live.

3. Love to laugh, and am especially proud of my only daughter and my son-in-law ... who chase PhDs, harness dreams with vigor,  and inspire me to risk a shot at new and better approaches in my own work daily.

4. Answer to a call, more than to any career, or that I care deeply about people, share cool ideas from the best risk-takers in my field, and track intellectual growth by showcasing smart skills with leaders in events I founded ... called Celebration of Knowledge.

5. Live and learn among many different cultures for extended periods of time. For instance, when I taught for McGill University, I lived in the High Arctic among Inuit people for almost two years.  These experiences in many countries … created my belief that our diversity training at work often stinks, while amazing new opportunities to value people wait in the wings to tap new talents for mutual benefits.

Nuff said – I’m off to tag five people far smarter than me, who inspire me today … all  thanks to my friend Ed’s generosity and creative mind!  Tags to
Easton Ellsworth, Seth Godin, Robyn McMaster, Lisa Haneberg, and Galba Bright. Your turn!

All five people here intrigue me often, and keep me wondering more about what makes them tick, because of all I’ve seen from them already. Who’s inspiring you – why not tag five in your next blog … and give us a chance to get to know your picks?  Thanks
Ed!

Thank you for the wonderful comment on my Five Things post! I love KMM, and it's nice to get to know you all a little better. I can't wait to see what Easton says! I am a big fan of his, as well.

Thanks for stopping by Diane, and thanks for the great site you host! Since I am working in Ireland this month, I did not send email to folks to tell them they are tagged and I am depending on people checking their links:-)

It was fun to write five things important to me -- and to read what others holds as dear.

Interestingly - because of the barin is wired and works best -- their 5 key areas would likely change had I written the post next week:-)

Nevertheless, lots would also remain constant as we hold parts of our lives dearer than other parts. These parts include both our strentgths and weaknesses - but they tend to make us who we are.

If you were to scan and hone your five traits ... into five words ... that best showcase the real you -- what would those 5 words be?

Hello there Ellen, congratulation on an excellent blog, I am a big fa, :-)
I have been studying hypnotherapy for years (a passion that never ends) and I am really enjoying your thoughts.

thank you for sharing

Great to hear of your interest in this area and to meet you Melinda. Thanks for your comments and for stopping by. Since your address indicated Moveable Type I was wondering how to add the code for the 2000 bloggers so their image would show. Mine shuts down before it's in:-) Any ideas?

Hi Ellen,

Great post! I love hearing about people and their passions and where it takes them. I'm with you about diversity training. I haven't traveled as much, but through adoption and extended family have many experiences.

Your blog is great! I always enjoy reading, but don't always take the time to comment.

You could check my blog and follow the link for the mini-version of 2000 bloggers. Doesn't seem to take as much time to load, etc. I use TypePad and have been able to copy and paste.

Hello Ellen:

Thank you for tagging me. It's very humbling for me to know that I inspire you. I'm grateful that you are benefiting. My take is that you are reaping a small portion of what you've already given based on what I've learnt and the inspiration that I've gained in the year or so that I've been reading your blog. Your follow up points in the comments about unchanging and variable aspects of the 5 things is a real gem, as is the follow on about 5 crisp adjectives. I've written my 5 things post and subtitled it "The art of emotionally intelligent tagging." I've learnt that the spin off from writing this is that the act of sharing more about myself deepens my intrapersonal intelligence. In other words, I believe, that, even though I didn't set out to gain, the process of sharing is good for me and is personally helpful.

I wonder what others think?

Thanks Sandy, you gave me hope to get that image in and I'll try one more time:-)Love the tips on your site!

Galba, I look forward to reading that blog! You have so much to teach us all about the intrapersonal - emotional sides of intelligence.

You didnt tag me but I thought what the hay...i will tell you five things about me you don't know.

1. I married someone way smarter than me.
2. I spent an afternoon with Ike Eisenhower and asked him the dumbest questions quite possibly he was ever asked.
3. I know someone who is best friends with, and works with, the sexiest man on the planet, Matthew McConaughey.
4. I think Mike Vance, the ex head of creativity at Disney, is about the most inspiring guy around. One day on vacation on Marco Island, up early and on the dock just hanging around. Mike just walked past...
5. I really enjoy your blog. Makes me feel smarter having found it.

best~GL

Dr. Ellen, your 5 points were of interest. I have spent a lot of time in Montereal, so McGill is well known to me, I also have been to Ireland and had a great time. Iwas tagged and responded on 12-31.

Thanks GL and Jim, It's fun to hear from friends at home while working abroad. I also enjoyed getting to know you through the 5 points of interest - which adds a great face to blogging friends.

Ellen and Diane wanted me to share five things you didn't know about me.  Bud and Matt tagged me, too.   Since I recently participated in (and discussed) this meme, let me change it to five things I've been working... [Read More]

OH, life's full. Way behind on blog reading. Great post on your five things we didn't know about you. Nova Scotia ... beautiful place. Was there twenty five years ago for a day. Always wanted to go back there and to PEI. Someday. You must like cold weather. Nova Scotia, Toronto, Alaska, New York. Its been 17-18 in the mornings here the past week. I'm loving it, and everyone is complaining. Too cold. I think 20 is just right, as long as a there is some snow in the air and little wind. Enjoy your stay in Ireland. Thanks for keeping the tagging going.
