Passionate for Progress?

People might forget what you say or do at work, but few will forget the way you draw them in with the passion you stir for progress. Bring passion to significant projects or take yourself out of them, because progress rarely happens on a larger scale without passion for quality.

Here are 10 smart skills to increase your brain's innate passion for progress.

1. Reboot your brain by taking one risk to fulfill a vision today with passion, rather than wait for a higher position that may come your way in future. brain_passion_reason2.gif

2. Seek out people who dance to new tunes, even when others cannot hear the music, and you will likely find the kind of passion that leads to adventure.

3, Commit yourself to caring for the community in practical ways and you will spark new passion for life and for innovation that adds purpose and meaning.

4. Chase a new idea or goal that stirs inner passion, and  you’ll direct your brain along a clear path to its fulfillment.

5. Expect the kind of passion that lies hidden in your mind as a dormant force – waiting for you to pursue your finest moments.

6. Integrate your multiple intelligences at work and watch passion mix with acumen as solutions draw from some intelligences rooted in reason and others rooted in passion.

7. Invite a passionate leader to lunch to see what makes him or her tick. Great leaders are not great so much because of their skills alone, but because of the passion they bring to their work.

8. Tell somebody else about your passionate idea to improve one problem. Passion’s that force we learn to live more fully with …  only after we grow willing to sacrifice or even die for it.

9. Ignore traditional beginnings and endings and allow passion for aesthetics to carry your project to success. This desire for mind-bending art and science at the end … tends to sharpen your brain for the means.

10. Step back and grade your passion for progress. Nothing seems impossible when you mix work, faithfulness, and fun so that deeper mental spaces of passion open to fuel a high-performance mind.

Passion adds progress as an ongoing force over an entire lifetime. Expect it and you will never cease to grow. It’s passion to add new zip when failure robs your progress in a day. Ignite one spark for curiosity today and you’ll light the passion that Anthony Robbins called the “genius of genius.”
