Myth about Memory and Your New Year Predictions (7)

If your new year could be limited by memory loss, this next mental myth is for you.

Myth 7: “I can’t remember things anymore.”

Reality: Memory is  connected to how we store information and we can learn to forget.jpgretrieve  facts when we need them.  When we link new ideas onto something we already know well, like you hang your hat on a familiar hook, we find it much easier to retrieve and use the new ideas later.

People who get ahead have simply learned how to link ideas together so they can use these to solve real-life problems and improve the quality of their day.

Begin the practice of writing things down, and you’ll notice progress at work almost immediately. That’s what researcher W.A. Howatt reported in Journaling to Self-Evaluation: A tool for Adult Learners.
