New Year Predictions - One Myth at a Time (1)

Some stores sell more stress than hope during the Christmas season, which  which leads to people’s feelings of failure. Unfortunately, these feelings often add to the limited success people predict for the coming year. and can also lead to emotional problems such as stress or depression. Fortunately, it does't need to be.

In the following few posts, I've listed the most common myths and misunderstandings about your brain’s capabilities that have been resolved by new information.  Face each misunderstanding here and stay on top in 2007.myths%203.gif

Myth 1: I’m not as smart as others at work and that’s why I did less well in 2006

Reality: Intelligence is not fixed as we once believed it was. Biological research tells us that our brainpower expands with challenges and is less limited by IQ than once suspected.

The brain is hardwired to unscramble complex puzzles and provide answers to even unfamiliar problems, and the key is to use mental tactics that ensure growth.

Interestingly, research by Ingram in 1998 showed that flexible workers, who show willingness to try new tasks, learn new skills and take risks … tended to last linger when layoffs hit.

What tools do you use at work to prove your acumen for quality at work?
