How much of what you see is influenced by racial identity? ?
A study published in Psychological Science explained how people's racial identity influences what they see. Researchers asked
participants who had one Black and one White parent… to reflect on their Black parent's ethnicity. Check out their findings…which showed that people’s visual perception is changed by what they think is so… and one-sided vision too often limits what think we can do in life….
It was interesting to see how people view a problem from racial identity, and yet how unaware they were that race had anything to do with their perceptions. Are you aware of biases you hold that limit you at work? Why not open a discussion over lunch to see how others see differently. What do you think?

What an interesting concept. I guess I had suspected such was the case but never knew for sure that it was...racial identity affecting perception that is.
Do you think that perception is sometimes intentionally 'bent' for convenience purposes?
I have on occasion talked to people on the phone and the partner on the other side felt necessary to ask me what my race was and/or to tell me their race....hmmm
