What Do They Read Where You Work?

What book would you list as a favorite over  the last year?  How do you rate the best American fiction in the last 25 years?

The New York Times did a survey and their results make a great list for must reads, in those breaks at work, on a subway or on CDs during your drive. Toni Morrison’s book Beloved won top position… and YS-fiction.jpgdeserved it in my opinion, although there are a few that made it, which I have yet to read.

Read AO Scott’s essay about the NY Times survey and see who got to vote….Do you agree with the winning top book? I was thrilled with this win and Toni Morrison might be able to help us reconsider democracy, equity and what it means to be human in North America …. Are you concerned as I am, though, for the fate of good books after reading an essay today by Promotional Intelligence by Rachel Donadio…. Makes me glad to see Networks like Know More Media rise up with new voices.

How many have you read from this alphabetically arranged winners list ...

  1. Raymond Carver, Where I'm Calling From
  2. Don DeLillo, White Noise
  3. Don DeLillo, Libra
  4. Don DeLillo, Underworld
