The Way We Read and Learn Has Changed - Has Your Workplace?

If you are a reader, you’ve likely noticed that information … and the way we engage it, has changed. Read a book, and you use your linguistic intelligence, but with the newer methods your multiple intelligences come more into play.

While language and reading skills for book use … were likely the focus of much of a person’s training other intelligences that make your business, could help to expand how people take in and express knowledge. Complete this survey to see how many intelligences do you use when you learn through digital methods? creatvity - the last frontier.jpg

It could have been his prediction of the digital world that led Albert Einstein to say….” Reading after a certain age, diverts the mind too much from its creative pursuits. Any man” … I’m pretty sure Einstein intended to say “human” here…” who reads too much and uses his brain too little falls into lazy habits of thinking….”  Do you agree…?

Digital learning allows readers to interact as they read, create responses as comments to written materials, or write blogs to investigate other possibilities on any topic, much like I am doing in this post. Did you know that with the increasing use of digital reading changes discussed here … the human brain rewires for approaches to learning that no longer work well with the “read” and memorize tactics used until recently.

How can a workplace make better use of the expanded notion of linguistic intelligence provided in our digital world? Any ideas?

Have you noticed quite a divide between business writing and literary writing online especially in places like DIGG where categories often do not meet needs? Since many of the sites are developed by folks focused in technology and business, its natural to begin here. Business writing requires us to get to the meat very quickly, which is great for us all. On the other hand literary writing at times uses a wider range of language and devices which delight the reader. Each has great purpose and provides audiences with ideas to tickle the mind! Thanks for the challenge.
