Participants brains were scanned as they thought about people either politically like or different from them. Researchers observed different areas light up in their brain in each case.
They found that perceptions about other races differed from views about one's own race, and the differences showed within brain activity. The study supports the idea that we tend to see certain groups as “other” in ways that cause us to miss their strengths and or see their weaknesses in ways we see a personal cultural groups?
