It’s often busy on my regular golf course… and I had to come up with a way to change that … since I have a paid membership there. Today I figured it out and already the solution is working in my favor. ![]()
I played the back 9 twice and hardly met a soul on the links. In fact I decided it’s easy to learn to love and to play the back nine and that disposition already has added serotonin to my game and improved my score.
Have you ever seen people flock to the back nine? Most newbies quit after 9 holes and so only the steadies make it out to the back nine. It’s quiet… it’s gentle and once you learn to love it… the back nine is a huge asset to your game. What do you think?
Advantages I see for your brain and golf … in the back nine
1. You can move faster and therefore keep the focus that allows your brain to keep good shots coming
2. You relax to concentrate on each shot without stress that impacts your moves … because there are few people in front or behind
3. Challenges that often don’t exist in the first 9 holes tend to pop in the last 9 to give you practice shots from many angles
4. Who else thought of learning to love the back 9 – as a way to improve your brain and your game? That’s a hole-in-one-thought right there. We played the back nine twice today and I plan to make it a practice. Can you imagine a Saturday morning on a busy golf course with hardly a soul out there? It still helps to keep your head down and swing through – though - even on the back nine!
