What art is in front of you when you look up from this post?
Art offers you an opportunity to use your unique spatial intelligence to solve problems at work. Here are a few examples of how art can work in your favor at work… ![]()
1. Place your favorite art work near a workplace you frequent so that you and others can find inspiration for your day as you pass by. I once hung a picture of a gal in short sleeves feeding farm animals a few oats during what looked like a breaking storm to start the winter. That painting reminded me to take care of people around me, and to remember the vulnerable people who get less attention at work. Art teaches us as it also gives us a language that words alone may lack.
2. Discuss with an artistic person, unique interests in art and ask how this has helped that person in business
3. Use images to describe or imagine the end results you want in the next project you complete at work. Then jot down words you see or imagine to act as a guideline or checklist to complete the work.
What else could be done to illumine art as a central pathway to more diversity at your business...?

This is so right on! I use art and music to create a environment that is conducive to creativity and stress relief. Art is just the start. We need to look at our environment from how our work environment is set up(comfortable or not), the color tones of the room (are the hostile or inviting) and the lighting (dark or full of natural light). A healthy work environment leads to healthy happy employees that are productive, happy and creative. We can all hope to be able to work in this environment.
