Does Age Hold You Back - Watch A Brain's MRI

What’s the magic age for you? Is it 12 … when you were old enough to have fun but too young for responsibilities that add stress? Or is it 23 … when love offered you a new lease on life? Or 60… when life slowed enough to reap its wonder? For me… the magic age is now and that now” changes with each year slapped onto my life … along with an inch or two onto my waist …. Ok... that steals back a bit of magic, I’ll admit. aging brain.gif

Watch this amazing interactive display of a brain’s MRIs  over time and see for yourself all the power in younger and older brains – power that is often hidden or unused when people desire it most….

I like to focus more on potential… and skills I’ve mustered over a rich lifetime … than on age in numbers. People tell about age discrimination out there … and it must be so because we have age discrimination acts … but I have no plans to be discriminated against … because that focus itself clouds my brain’s opportunities to move forward.

Joe, a good friend of mine, started out in great spirits to land another job … after being downsized from a senior post with a manufacturing company. After a few weeks … Joe left another rejection … highly discouraged. “I’m too old for what they want…” he added in a mournful tone.

subarachnoidspace.jpgWould you hire my friend Joe at that moment? How would he stack up Jack…  who, at the same age … upgraded his skills for a new field … asked a popular CEO to lunch … and then shared what he could add to this man’s top firm? Jack focused more on using his lifetime of learning…laughing … giving and growing in a firm that traded windmills for turbines.

Feeling like Joe or Jack? And by the way … these focus problems applies to young people as well. Take the young teacher I spoke to last week … who blamed her lack of teaching skills on her young age… and missed the magic opportunity to use smart skills as a way to interest and engage her secondary students

The key to living a magic age is to focus on learning something new daily… give…risk … laugh … love … play …think …and forgive. Focus on what you do well… or will learn to do… and you’ll create dendrite brain cell connectors to your brain … that bring magic to your business.

What did you say that magic age is for you…?
