My team won the Rotary District Golf Tournament today! It was actually the District 7120 Annual Golf Tournament … a tough … but professional course and we fought especially hard to pull it off!
What an adrenalin rush it was! Makes me think I’d like to play more tournaments … especially with a fun team like this one. ![]()
To the left … that’s Ruth Cronkwright ... who’s the Branch Leader for Hunt and upcoming Rotary President for Fairport. Next to her is Maureen Toombs … leader with Re-Max. I’m third to the left – still in disbelief … and then Dr. Robyn McMaster … who is Senior VP here at the
We came in 4 under par after 18 tough holes at the Charleston Pines at Lima Country Club and by coincidence my ball won closest to the pin, even though many of my tees were not all I wanted today. But we pulled as a team and when one shot off the other caught the slack – it carried on for all 18 holes. In the end … we almost hit 5 under and through a rather tired slip in the final hole … we lost one shot and dropped to 4 under par. We’ll take it!
Today was a busy day at work but I am so glad I left it all to golf – because it’s really true that the human brain does better when you step back to play and laugh – so play golf we did! My own brain was mighty grateful to be swinging as part of this fine … winning team! We really had fun to because each one had the shot we needed just when we needed it!
Now I’ll recommend Charleston Pines Country Club to all golfers, because they were helpful and they made sure this large tournament rolled along without a glitch.
Work is still there even after we are back … but after such a good game of golf we’ll do it in half time! Our team pulled it off as a collaborative and made us all proud to pull together and hit the peaks! Thanks Robyn, Ruth, and Maureen! It was a serotonin game all the way … because of each of you!

Hi Ellen and Robyn,
What a great day! A true "summer vacation" packed into just one day! What a treat of a day. Thanks to Maureen for getting us set up to "play".
