The Rochester Chapter of the American Marketing Association has been advertising a seminar they’ve planned for ![]()
Advertising for this seminar though … made me think more about “truth” … than about smoking …. Lately … I’ve been reflecting on firms I work with … and on the top ten signs that truth exists in a business …. The top ten signs I came up with … have truth evident in …
1. People’s willingness to brainstorm ideas and take suggestions for improvement
2. Transparency or near transparency from leadership
3. Open forums where leaders learn daily … and workers teach at times
4. New ideas that pop up from diverse people… settings and events
5. A zest for opposite viewpoints … shared freely on controversial topics
6. Openness to those who differ and respect for people of all backgrounds
7. Forums to investigate ideas and research supports to back conclusions
8. Healthy input from clients, employees and shareholders
9. Customer and employee satisfaction through tone that is taught
10. Encouragement of community building for mutual benefits
The opposite of truth in some firms out there … is lies … deception … and dishonesty. What does truth mean to you … and how is it evident at your workplace?
