What have you planned for today? Can you name your weekly targets? Do you list your goals ahead … or does the workday pretty much carry you through whatever it presents?
A study on targets in Success Magazine, surveyed Yale’s class of 1953 about their specific targets. It turned out that only 3 per cent of the Yale class listed specific targets, for their day or their lives. Thirteen per cent had targets but failed to write them down. And 84 percent had no specific targets they could identify… for their lives.
Twenty years later, in 1973, researchers revisited this class, and found alarming differences between those who listed targets and those who did not. The 13 percent with their targets in writing … earned double the salaries of the 84 per cent without targets.
More amazing yet … the 3 per cent with written targets earned on average, 10 times as much as the other 97 percent of graduates…. Combined!
This study … and others like it … affirms what targets are central to business success. It’s also why clear targets remain central to brain based business practices. What do you think?
