A new study has it that men are more motivated by having a common enemy. “After devising an economics game, psychologists requested that groups of volunteers choose whether to keep money for themselves or invest in a group fund. The males in the study were more generous to group-mates if they thought that other groups were competing with them. The results, announced at the British Association's Science Festival, may aid in explaining the evolutionary roots of men's interest and behavior in war. That study left me with a key question… “What if the common enemy were seen as war itself?” Would that change of enemies help men pull together ... to add their brilliance to brain based peace plans? Think of the brainpower to add peace to our broken world ... and bring differences together to benefit more humanity? It’s just a question I had…. What do you think?
