To go or not to go? Yikes... can't believe I almost fell for it ... all because VP, Kevin Oliver made it look so good. Simply call 1-800-830 – 1955 and reserve a seat for you and a guest. “Tickets worth more than $120 are enclosed," and luckily the deal of a lifetime conference is now in my neighborhood. Then I looked into it more.... Why do marketers lie to us, and make deceit look like a thoughtful strategy for success? And do hotels who host scams know they are complicit in this deception that can ruin their clients' lives?
I looked carefully on the personally addressed invitation from Internet Income Training – who claims to be a leading Internet solutions provider for small business. Spashed all over the letter are logos from eBay… Yahoo … Google … and MSM. I wonder if they know they too are part of the rip-off plan?
It was over at the Lizwalder blog that I discovered that my invitation might not be as free as it looks and the dinner might bring indigestion, rather than any deal! Thanks Liz for checking up on the Internet Training conference and for providing the links below:
1. Internet marketing conference information
2. Ripoff Reports
3. Austerman Archives Free Dinners
4. Mykenora default
Your thoughtful research saved me the time and frustration of this free deal. It didn’t save me any guilt for going and not buying though – cause I’ve learned over time that those who move forward are also those who DON’T DO GUILT.
It certainly pays to check the Internet before that bite you plan to take … bites you back. Look at the trail a group leaves behind them and The Daily Times in Longmont reported this group left a trail of “customer complaints and legal actions in several states and countries for misleading business practices.”
Back to my brain’s hardwired response to this one … Run from free deals – the cost tends to be far too high for my bankroll! In this case … they want $6000 in an Internet store package. Ouch … I can’t help but wonder if people get down their last gulp before the price is dropped in their plates. Reminds you to watch your back and help somebody else to also. What do you think?

You're welcome Ellen.
:)
The thing I’m still curious about is...how do they get away with having the Ebay logo on some of the pamphlets? Ebay if you are reading this...let me know what's the deal with that.
