There’s an interesting discussion going on over at Mike Sansone … Tom Vander Well’s … thanks to Starbucker’s “Crash Davis Belief Statements”. People are coming from all over the place philosophically and having some fun at the same time. Mary Schmidt threw it into one direction, and Anonymous Cog turned it in another one through his
comment. What do you believe … when all the other “stuff” of life is peeled away?
Make sure you take your turn cause … I plan to take mine here … in hopes of hearing yours....
I believe my life … given by God’s generosity … should be used to value and learn from people of all beliefs … backgrounds and persuasions. I believe the human mind mixes with soul to become an engine for beauty … truth … and honor … and that … while that differs for each of us … we can agree on common threads of respect for humans. Throw in humility and we'll begin to build trust and goodwill across humanity. That believe shows up whenever we help to feed hungry people … visit discouraged prisoners … and encourage those who reach beyond their own busy schedules to lend a hand to others. It also shows when we take risks to bring people together for brilliant solutions to conflicts ... all because what we do today shapes who we become tomorrow.
I believe that with careful tone … we could open any community’s mind to search deeper for brilliance ... that will bring peace ... and will avoid war at all costs. I believe that together we can create a world our grandchildren will value ... and that we’ll do so near a backdrop of classical or inspirational music ... and that we’ll be inspired by art -- the kind of art my talented daughter creates.
I believe in family and friends and communities that draw from deep differences for mutual benefit. In all these things that I believe … I still learn lessons daily from people like you … about how to live more of my beliefs on a daily basis… Oh yes … did I say that I believe we can learn daily until we leave one another for a more peaceful world.
Who's next? I’d love to hear what you hold deepest. Your turn ....

Ellen, well done! This "chain of beliefs" that we are creating is offering brief but important glimpses into our collective minds, hearts and souls - perspectives that will only deepen our "connectedness" as we forge ahead with our blogging experiences. Thanks for sharing. All the best.
