Have you ever wondered how to get more from your morning brain? Here are 10 practices … each worth one point … and a tip to boost the benefits from your morning brain….
1. Start by setting your alarm to correspond to sleep cycles and you’ll take advantage of rhythmic patterns, which last for 90 minutes. You’ll do better at work if your sleep cycle is not broken or interrupted in the wrong stage. If you slept with your sleep cycle in mind - take 1 point.
2. Take advantage of the fact that rote memory tends to be sharpest in the morning. Use your newfound tip to turn the boss' head about
some technology fact that could add to the team’s effectiveness later that day. Did you try to learn at least one new fact in the morning? If so … take a point.
3. Run on the spot … take the stairs instead of the elevator … or walk somewhere instead of driving. The reason exercise boosts your morning brain… is because your pulse rate and blood pressure tend to rise sharply in the morning … so you balance your mental mix by moving.... If you moved … you get another point.
4. Gain benefits from using all of your brain waves and try out at least 3 of your 8 distinctive intelligences or affirm a new perspective from each of 3 people who are stronger in 3 different intelligences … all before lunch. For 3 intelligences used you get another point.
5. Drink lots of water to give your brain a head-start before your morning routines. You lose water overnight and your brain consists of 75 to 80 percent water so it helps to re-hydrate before work. That glass of sparklin’ blue wins you another point. That’s 5 possible so far.
6. Expect new answers to old questions, and start with an issue or event that piques your curiosity and stirs some wonder. Remember, overnight your brain completely rewires itself, and you grew new dendrite connector cells, which allow you to move forward faster now with the inspiration you stockpiled yesterday. Curiosity allows you to tap into amazing new neuron connections.
7. Begin your day by adding one small event that brings pleasure to you …and reschedule one possible conflict situation, until you can reflect for better solutions or gain advice from a mentor about how to handle it better … and without stress.
8. Run from negativity… and that will help your brain to reduce cortisol and raise serotonin. These chemicals, called neurotransmitters, seep through clefts in your brain. They convert to electrical impulses and effect emotions which can ruin your entire day.
9. Listen to your favorite music in the background. Give yourself another point when you hear the first note.
10. Laugh at yourself, or at something hilarious you remember … and then give yourself another point as soon as your joke gets a smile from anybody who’ll listen.
Any score below 10 points reminds you to reboot your brain …. Or be good to you … and go back to sleep until you’re ready to take on another day … without slowing your brain to the speed of a slug…. What do you think?

I like the part about being good to me if all of these do not fall into place! Thanks for...
a great way
to get underway
each day!
