I was interested today in business writer, Tom Ehrenfeld’s … 5 Guidelines on Writing partly because I too care about writing and partly because I see brain based business opportunities in Tom's dynamic writing.
Tom suggests that writers should:
1. Write about what you know. The human brain comes hardwired to draw from Intrapersonal Intelligence in ways that let you know more as well as to know what more you know. ![]()
2. Know your audience. We each come equipped with Interpersonal Intelligence ... to develop and use in ways that let us know others and be known by readers. Tom’s suggestions calls on more use of this intelligence ... and I agree that it will improve writing every time.
3. Surprise us. Today I shared ideas about what is known as the novelty center of the human brain. It quite a dilly – and once you know it’s there ... you'll also spot surprising new opportunities that transform ideas into winning results!
I especially enjoy Tom's humor and that is more brain based than any of the above -- for good reason!
Thanks Tom! Your post today proves that you are not only an inspired writer – you are also a brain based one. Maybe that’s why I get new ideas every time I visit your site. Keep blogging with the brain in mind….

I appreciate your enlarging on Tom's helpful posting.
Recently I read Truth in Comedy on the subject of improv. The authors point out that improv teams are taught to surprise their audiences by chosing not to do the predictable. Improv performers consider surprise a form of respect for their audience.
Always value you insights!
