Benefiting at work from Brain Based Insights

If your golf game needs a good overhaul ... and if, like many politicians ... you have a penchant for words ... you can use those words to lift your swing. It's how the brain works and believe it or not... playing with words can actually improve your next play at the links. How so?

Verbal-linguistic intelligence is used by the best golfers out there to read about it, talk about it and,  write about it. This mental capability includes your ability to play with and learn from words and phrases.  Try listening to Scott Peck’s humorous tapes on how golf relates to life, and then follow three of his verbal suggestions off the tee… and you’ll see how it works in a fun way.

Read golf magazines ... and your brain stores images of successful shots that it uses when you shoot.

Talk to others about golf ... and you’ll hear stories about what to do which bring serotonin to your next shot. You’ll also hear stories about the fact that others flub a shot here and there – stories which will give you the courage you need to take a few risks that can improve your game.

Write about it.... While I was in the PhD program at the University of British Columbia , I discovered that a person can write to know a thing. Simply start with ideas you think are so and then keep writing until you know what you know. It’s actually quite fun to do because it shows you how we often think we know something before we do.

Start with a two footed question today and then read about it, talk about it and write about it. Use mine …How would my swings look different  today if I was using my game in a teaching video for a person I know who’d never golfed and would like to learn?   …or create your own.
