When complaints outflank ideas at work… you get criticism and cynicism. Listen to or read political dialogues for one hour and you will see what I mean…. The opposite is also true….
I stopped by for lunch at Wegman’s Food Store yesterday and while there I stopped to chat with a friend… Mary Beth Stewart … in Human Resources leadership there. We discussed the store ... huricanes... people we knew ...
and her son who is working at a new location of Wegman’s in
By the time I left Wegman’s ... the shared language at that table had buoyed up my whole day. In fact I had one of my best golf games of the season afterward. Mary Beth talked about why people love to work at Wegman’s and I shared how my daughter picked out groceries for her recent stay at my home and then prepared some of Wegman’s favorite recipes. As I looked back over the conversation… I saw that there were three solutions that we discussed.
1. We chatted about possible solutions for
2. We laughed about bringing adult children to pick out foods they like when they visit
3. We shared a passion for what we do… and discussed how much we liked coming to work since we selected jobs that suit us more.
Three solutions to situations many face… finding hope after hurricane disaster… keeping adult children visits fun… finding careers that stir our passions to contribute. Solutions come from a person's logical mathematic intelligence to solve problems and are developed by practicing ideas that support rather than complaints that detract.
How do you bring solutions to dilemmas you see at work or in your life?

The most interesting thing here is that both approaches are contagious! You can either complain or solve problems - either way others will join in!!!
