When we think about our abilities on the golf course, we rarely think of math abilities. However … golf is more than swinging and math is more than number … and these two opposites share one unique similarity. They both require you to solve problems. That’s just where you can get help on the golf course simply by drawing on your math smarts – and we all have them…. Because schools tend to narrow the possibilities for math intelligence … few golfers use this amazing mental tool to enhance their game.
Think of you logical-mathematical intelligence as your innate and developed ability with logic … numbers … and patterns that help move you sequentially toward a target. It’s the mental tool you’ll have to solve problems that create hazards along the way. Do you see the course with it’s hazards that need to be accounted for to let your ball through.
Your math intelligence helps you to organize your day around your next game … so that you play at a time you enjoy golfing most. If you’ve ever golfed with a person who has no time management or organizational skills operating… you’ll see the value of that acumen even more.
Sequence each step toward a winning hit and then plan to follow the same methodical sequence for the next swing… and you are using skills from your math set.
Engage your brain in multiple ways on the golf course, and you’ll discover new talents that often remain hidden during a round of golf.
