What do you say when people ask … “Should I try to stick it out where I work … or get a new job?
John Chambers, CEO at Cisco Systems in CA really described a worker’s dream from inside the human brain, when he said: “I believe that people stay at a company because they like a challenging work environment that they share with intelligent, energetic and fun people.”
I'd stay at a workplace that allows people of all shapes, sizes, backgrounds and cultures … to balance three-dimensional lives in ways that help them excel in a lofty vision together. What do you think helps people to stay at a firm? What keeps you around?
Raymond Gilmartin, CEO at Merck & Co. said: he’d never take a job simply because it might look good on his resume, because he has to do things he enjoys. Does that describe your work? If not... what would help you to go after another job?

Hi Ellen!
You've hit on one of my favorite topics.
While the environment you work in is extremely important, I always counsel my friends that it's time to go when they're no longer learning new skills - when the company is getting a lot out of them but they're not getting much in return (in the way of growth). Most of my colleagues don't care as much about money (it's all pretty comparable). We tend to care about culture and growth -which really go hand in hand.
Personally, if there aren't opportunities for me to grow - I'm out of there!
