An increasing number of drivers and others … who work longer, harder hours … are falling asleep at work. Not surprisingly, these people have likely been trapped into believing Myth No. 3 which has it that:
"If I work harder and longer each day, I’ll get further ahead in the job I do currently."
The opposite is often the case… and once again … in this series called, Brain Based Myths that Stop Business Ownership, I’ll touch on brain
based tactics for those interested in shattering myths about the brain. …. Well at least … for those open to … plunging into new business ownership … based on how the human brain works for or against you.
You’ve likely noticed that an underlying thread of this series is … reboot your brain for a life-changing business bonanza. So… if you really want to shatter a popular myth about harder work … and if you’d like to free your business brain, you’ll be interested in watching that clock a bit more …. And you’ll squeeze in a few extra times a week for yourself and for those close to you. Here’s why….
In Reality: When we work harder and longer, and sleep less, we're most likely working against rather than with our brains. Rather than getting ahead many people who pile on more work… end up burning out rather than burning strong.
Sleep affects our mental progress because our brains rewire completely each day as we sleep. Even a siesta helps!
Rewiring is based on the previous day's activity and relies on adequate amounts of deep sleep each night. Did you know that your brain works in your favor while you sleep? Unsuccessful people often work longer and harder, but smart people benefit more from consistent sleep than long work hours.
How do you remind yourself on a busy day … to take care of your brain?
