I was especially interested in Carol Kendrick’s post this morning called … Outsourcing or Smartsourcing? Many of us have expressed concern about the unfair balances between outsourcing and reaching globally for interaction … yet we still hear more complaining than solutions.
That’s why the term smartsourcing in Carol’s post caught my eye.
According to Carol…” this should be the main approach of companies who are expecting more than saving cost when outsourcing. Smartsourcing is also a book written by Tom Koulopoulos, founder and CEO of the Delphi Group.”
Check out his interview at interview where he distinguishes between outsourcing and smartsourcing. Carol suggests that “Mr.Koulopoulos, outsourcing contracts usually has one thing in mind- to cut on cost. Smartsourcing on the other hand "advocates using partners who can help a company to focus on its core, balance risk and opportunity, lower costs, increase innovation across all of its processes and finally, put in place attitudes to optimize all of these factors, socially and politically".
Maybe the book, Smartsourcing by Tom Koulopoulos is the one that will help us to see that it’s less about outsmarting money and cost saving ideas… and more about creating better ways to become competitive world players with an eye for mutual benefits. Seems to me that it could create a better business opportunity for more people… while building better communities at home as a result. What do you think?
