
After four-year study of elderly women at University of California - San Francisco, researchers reported that chronically elevated blood sugar increases your risk of developing either mild mental problems or even dementia.
This study confirmed the connection between diabetes and cognitive problems and supports the hypothesis that abnormal glycemic control is linked to an increased risk of developing mental problems and dementia in elderly women. ![]()
There will likely be attempts now to study a wider population of people in order to understand if this problem persists across ages and careers. In the meantime it seems to me that we’d all benefit mentally if we monitor our blood sugar levels and ensure these stay safe, according to medical guidelines any doctor can offer. What do you think?
