It seems that if you base your conclusions on cross sectional data… you’ll find that birth order affects intelligence. The answer is likely opposite, though, if you base your conclusion on longitudinal research results, as seen in this series called, Brain Based Myths that Stop Business Ownership.
Regardless of whether birth order affects intelligence… or not … some people limit themselves because they live by the belief:
Myth No. 4: "Others in my family are much smarter than me."
Reality: Without a doubt… we enjoy success because of genes we are born with … but we also succeed in life as a result of problem solving approaches and patterns we learn.
For instance, great questions influence achievement at work since questions help to increase our curiosity and enable us to act more from a sense of wonder than routines.
Questions help us to prevent the passivity that leads to failure. Because they point to a higher aim… they also draw brainpower multiple intelligence as a way to respond.
