
A research study at the University of Rochester Medical Center linked lead exposure to adult brain cancer.

The study reported that “more than 18,000 brain and spinal cord tumors will be diagnosed in the this year. Yet little is known about what causes brain cancer; the only established risk factor is radiation, according to the American Cancer Society.”
While we have emphasized the dangers of exposing children to lead, we have taken less notice of the dangers for adults.

In spite of warnings and improvements, lead exposure remains a hazard in the United States. Particularly at risk are certain manufacturing, construction and mining industries.
