Why not use your unique intelligence mix to build brain based designs?
You can create designs never before created simply by using parts of your brain never before used to design. Here are eight practical tips to get you started:
1. Visit a rich-simulating environment – let the color, texture, shapes and lines... teach you one new image ...that will promote your product…. Then sketch a link between what you see and what you could create and you've just unleashed your spatial intelligence.
2. Gather two other creative people for breakfast outdoors, and ask questions about how to link indoor and outdoor images. Learning together engages your interpersonal intelligence.
3. Walk alone past a variety of places and notice what color, light, nooks & crannies, or sounds might add to your next design. Now your intrapersonal or introspective intelligence will come to your aid.
4. Physically build a mock-up or a new display that you design as you create…. Move things around… change the environment until it inspires you…. Learn something new from what you build and add it to your design. Let your bodily kinesthetic intelligence guide you here.
5. Listen to your favorite CD or DVD … making sure it’s the best music to think and design to at the moment… and you’ll be surprised how your musical intelligence will dance your brain waves into you new angles and a novel design.
6. Apply one principle you learned lately in science… or look one up on the Internet. The key is to take a risk to push the envelop in computer-rich designs that cross-fertilize the best ideas for your design goal… and you have just unleashed your logical mathematical intelligence.
7. Reflect at a retreat spot near a stream or as you hike along a scenic trail and your naturalistic intelligence will leap to your aid.
8. Write a few sentences about what your design is meant to accomplish and how it will do that… and your linguistic intelligence becomes your best vehicle to explore implications that reinforce your design targets… by using a mix of intelligences that reboots your brain for quality designs.
